Introduction
“Tea Cuisine Showcase” was the springboard for the tea culture of Shiding Township. The two kinds of tea cuisine are: indoor and outdoor. The first is fastidious with a quiet elegance; the second is enjoyed by the creek using local traditional materials. Local pottery workers design the appropriate tea set depending on the individual needs of the tea cuisine; also, with senior tea masters co-plan in innovative tea cuisine, the vitality of the township culture is shown. Refreshments are essential to the cuisine, so community mothers resort to all means to produce a variety of tasty snacks that complement the tea. Shiding’s excellent WenshanBaozhong Tea and beauty tea are the common efforts of all farmers. So, the first pot of tea in the event is dedicated to the farmers in appreciation of their hard work in producing such a quality cultural feast. We expect that they will keep up and hence boost the local
tea industry.
1. Suburban-creek Tea Party
(1) Tea party culture: after the local people learnt tea art, guests were invited in the Danlan Art Hall for tea. Various artists were alsoin the tea party for an impromptu performance.
(2) Creativity Competition: local shops were invited to make tea desserts, introduce and promote high quality of Shiding tea.
2. Waterfront Tea Creek
(1) Tea cuisine by the creek: organize a Tea Savoring Seminar for tea lovers; tea cuisine by the creek was set to entertain tourists,make friends, and experience the beauty of traditional tea arts.
(2) Tea Making: Visitors will learn tea making and learn about tea leaves, tea production processes, and the benefits of tea-drinking.
(3) Performances of songs about picking tea and local folk songs.
3. Retro make-up bazaar
(1) Retro make-up bazaar: The concept of a masked ball is used to attract tourists to the village bazaar and create a retro style.
(2) Feature Food Village: A promotion area is set up to convene local gourmet and specialty stores, and quality dining experience is promoted to attract consumers.
(3) Green shopping street: Focus on promotion of commodities of local agricultural products, organic, environmental protection and health, encouraging reuse of resources and setting up of second-hand goods exchange centers.
(4) Beauty tea freeze DIY: People experience first-hand process of freezing tea into different shapes.
4. Danlan (Pale Orchid) Ancient Path Tour
A special guide takes you on the Shiding cultural tour. You may witness the fruitful results of trapping fish by the creek enclosure.
Tea seats available along the way enable you to experience traditional tea art culture while relaxing.
5. Heaven’s Sacred Drum
As night falls in the valley creeks of Shiding, ancient poems are reflected on the pier. The faint flute sounds of the forest are
accompanied by the graceful oriental beauty dancing in the valley. On the riverbed, the Sacred Drummer’s performance on the
Heaven’s Sacred Drum is exhilarating.
