Introduction
The 2012 activity, in addition to the shows performed by Zidixi (amateur shows), particularly emphasizes "Promoting folk art education" and "Having fun with public activities". The folk art education promotion will be held in the form of camps in a more interesting and in-depth way instead of giving speeches. In having fun with the public activities, many activities will be held two weeks prior to the festival so that the public have the chance to experience the fun of folk arts. The activities include teaching the public how divine generals walk, how their makeup is applied and other interesting folk activities so that students and people in the community get to know and are exposed to the drama pieces and music of folk culture as well as appreciate them.
About the activity
1. Linkou Zidixi and the Opening Ceremony of Zhulin Guanyi Temple
On the activity day of Linkou Zidixi, Nine-Xuan Club and teachers of Nanguan and Beiguan are divided into three units to parade around the Linkou area. The three units gather at the Zhulin Mt. Guanyi Temple and Songjian troupe (a kind of parade formation) is performed. The sounds of suona horns blare and Jiabao Elementary School and Lelin Zidi Troupe do shows. In addition to the wonderful Zidixi, "Exhibition of Artifacts of Zidixi and Zidixi Makeup Experience", "Exhibition of Creative Culture by Community Industry", "Experiencing Folk Art Activity" and "DIY Family Activity"are also available to enrich the fair and make Zidixi activity more interesting. Cultural energy is filled in the area.
2. Folk Art Education Promotion Project
Linkou Community College and Jiabao Elementary School work together to promote the culture of Zidixi. The promotion conducted in training clubs on campus and in form of camps allow the young generation to get to know the cultural features and development contexts of Linkou Zidixi. It not only aims to pass on the art but also lays the foundation for the future development of Linkou Zidixi.
(1) The pass-on of Zidixi on Campus ( Linkou Jiabao Elementary School)
Jiabao Elementary School joined in the Zidixi pass-on plan last year, and the results of the training are satisfying and their performances are well-received. Moreover, they are invited to do shows in other schools for cultural exchange. They are indeed the new force of Zidixi. This year, new initiatives such as hiring new teachers are taken so that the little Zidi in Jiabao Elementary School have a better environment to grow and learn Zidixi.
(2) The Art Experiencing Camp of Zidixi
Other than the seminars held last year, the promotion of Zidixi is held in camps so that young friends who are interested in Zidixi can learn more about it. For this reason, the Linkou District Office works with Linkou Community College to hold a short-term Zidixi Camp Activity which includes the courses of Art of Face Makeup and parade formation, both are important to Zidixi.
3. Having Fun with the Public
For the general public, a Zidixi Experiencing Activity is held. Lelin Troupe will guide the public to experience how to be divine generals, how divine generals walk, and how to apply the makeup of a divine general. In addition, traditional folk art experiencing activities and DIY Family activities are included to add more fun with the public.
4. Zidixi Photography Contest
In order to promote the local culture and art education and to capture moments of activities, a contest with the theme of "Linkou Zidixi" is held and photographers from all over Taiwan are welcome to record precious moments of "2012 New Taipei City Traditional Art Festival - Linkou Zidixi". The award ceremony will be held on a date to be announced.
