Introduction
Jinjiou region is a heaven for artists, photographers, movie makers, song composers, TV, advertisement and documentary
productions. Since the 1980s, this place has become popular amongst production, governmental and academic fields. Its settlement has even reach god-like status among photography enthusiasts. The “Arts Festival of Ruifang Golden Mountain City” hopes to develop local cultural industry through the participation of artists, schools, communities and Minshuku (Bed & Breakfast) industry owners.
Activity Details:
1. Homage to Masters
Hold local arts exhibition of masters and invite them to associate with schools and communities. “Use Nails and Paint to Create the Beauty of Jioufen and Ruifan” arts competition and other musical performances and local talent shows can further this
communication.
2. One Day Package Trip
Trips include tourist spots and local culture exposure, which include the Gold Ecological Park, local businesses (such as tea houses, restaurants, bed & breakfasts), and tourist agencies.
3. Walk of Golden Mountain City
Black Gold Legend, Gold Ecological Park, Keelung Mountain and Eluanbi Light House.
4. Local Bazaar (Square in front of Ruifang Train Station)
In collaboration with young designers in crafting stalls of local flavor, KTV competition and free gifts.
Purpose
Jinjiou region is a source of inspiration for many artists. We hope contributions from local artists and historical workers could
systematically portray a better picture of Ruifang. Through creative marketing, historical materials and local cultural events could further enhance the image of Ruifang, with the benefits of tourist industry development.
Local Attractions
Ruifang Town was one of the early production centers of gold, silver, bronze and coal. There are also thirteen temples scattered
amongst Jioufen Settlement. Remnants of office buildings, theatres, stone tablets and mine entrances can be seen everywhere.
Gold Ecological Park
It’s located at Jinguashi of Ruifang Town, with abundant cultural and natural heritage. It’s also the first ecological park with the
intention of creating a natural ecological museum. Premises include: Gold Museum that introduces mining culture, Wukeng Tunnel Experience that introduces how miners live their lives, Ecological Hall that introduces the ecological habitat of Jinguashi, Taizi Hotel that introduces people to classic Japanese style. Furthermore, important scenic spots like Dizhi Park, Jinguashi Shrine, Chahu Mountain, POW Camp and Golden Waterfall are also worth visiting.
Jioufen Tourism Shopping District
Composed of Shuqi Road and Jishan Street. Along Shuqi Road one can get a good view of Jioufen Settlement, visit numerous
shops, art galleries, police stations and groceries. The main street in Jioufen, Jishan Street is also known as “Dark Street Kid” or Jioufen Old Street, which is filled with shops and local specials, thus it is always crowded with people during weekends.
