2013 Gold Hometown Art Festival

Origin

The aim is to inspire and pass on local art and culture atmosphere and actively trigger sparks ignited between people in the community and art activities in order to display the art and cultural highlights of Ruifang as well as the diverse kinds of performing arts and cultural treasures.   Through various art and cultural activities, the local government hopes to plant the seeds of art locally and integrate local resources to construct an art living space, to facilitate exchanges among cities and countries, to enhance the artistic and cultural atmosphere, and to provide people with opportunities to participate in various performing activities as well as experience activities directly in order to nurture the population’s participation in cultural activities in Ruifang and exhibit the rich and diverse culture of Ruifang while promoting its overall cultural development.

The local government hopes to attract non-local tourists with the activities of the Golden Hometown Art Feast while promoting local attractions in Ruifang.  The local government also hopes with the help of local cultural groups, the participation of local communities, schools, art groups and cultural workers will be facilitated so that Ruifang’s local features are displayed while inspiring a sense of recognition and honor for the place the locals call hometown to develop the beauty of art and culture unique to Ruifang.

Activities

Golden Times – The Street Artist Performances:  The golden country – Ruifang has a prosperous past.  By bringing together various performing groups and individuals to perform at the square in front of the Jinan Temple, Sijiaoting, the local government hopes to generate new energy in Ruifang through these performances.

A Trip along 【The Legend of Black Gold】 (Ruifang – Houtong railway trip):It’s a venture into the culture of Ruifang railways.  Through the wooden window frames in the Ruifan Station, visitors can catch a glimpse of its beauty, enjoying photos of Ruifang’s scenery.  Next, the tour guide will take them to Houtong, once the largest coal mine.  Here, in addition to a coal mine museum, the primitive “cat bridge” that allows people and cats passing reminds people of the “black gold” times of the coal mine.
 

“Pinocchio “ – An Amazing Encounter in the Golden Town: Inviting the “Just Apple Children’s Drama” to bring the audience the musical adaptation “Pinocchio” is not only great to enjoy, but also carries significance in educating children and bringing them inspiration.  The storyline is touching, involving many twists and turns  through rich and interesting acting. The story is told from the perspective of modern children.  It transforms a classic novel and its images into a drama played by real people, allowing the children to get to know the world in its many aspects.

“Philharmonic” Times at the Golden Town: the Taipei Philharmonic has prepared well-chosen classical pieces and invites people to enjoy those melodies touching their hearts in a venue that fills people with a sense of nostalgia, and to experience the prosperity and luxuries of the golden times.
